Mary_HeadshotMary graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012 with a B.S.P.H. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering and a minor in Anthropology. In school she held leadership roles in sustainable community gardening efforts and graduated as a Public Service Scholar. Mary participated in a renewable energy-focused study abroad program in Bangkok, Thailand during which she researched the effects of the country’s palm biodiesel industry on regional water availability.

On the Real New Energy team since November of 2012, Mary has engaged in various built environment, urban sustainability and food access consulting and development projects. As a member of RNE’s Sustainable Urban Development team, Mary has scouted and developed concepts for various projects in DC and New Orleans. Mary remains well-connected in the diverse culinary scene in New Orleans, with specific interest in promoting equitable access to the city’s sustainable and traditional foodways.
