Dutch Consulate Portrait -91 PaulPaul is one of the founding partners of Real NewEnergy, an integrated sustainable energy company with offices in San Francisco and the Netherlands. Real NewEnergy is operating along 3 divisions: sustainable energy consulting, clean technology development and renewable energy project development. Since the founding and launch of Real NewEnergy early 2010, Paul has been involved in a large spectrum of sustainability projects and technologies including small wind turbine technology, a biomimicry-based micro-hydro technology, a flywheel energy storage technology, a sustainability performance management software tool, the development of an offshore wind test lab, a net-zero energy/net-zero water, off-grid greenhouse and numerous energy vision and go-to market strategies.

Paul is the founder and Board Member of OrangeGoesGreen a Public-Private Partnership between the Netherlands and the US which is operating at the intersection of energy, water and food which was founded in 2012. More recently, Paul has co-founded several start-ups like QuinteQ Energy Storage and BladeRunner Energy.

Paul transferred to the US in 2006 to set-up the North-American operations for a leading Dutch supplier of currency, coin and classified document destruction equipment in order to develop the US Federal Government market. Paul worked as VP Business Development for this firm between 1998 and 2006.

Prior to that, Paul was running his own consulting company which was specialized in environmental and agricultural technology transfer projects, mainly between the Netherlands and the US but also active in Spain, Brazil and Japan. Paul initiated his career as technology development manager for a newly formed environmental division of a large industrial conglomerate in the Netherlands.

Paul holds a Bachelor degree in International Business at the Higher School of Economics in Groningen, the Netherlands and the Ryerson Polytechnic University of Toronto, Canada.
